PJ's Sun Control has been advised recently that House Bill 1215 has passed both the House of Representative and the Senate of Mississippi.  The bill is now on its way to the Governor Haley Barbour for his signature.  This new law lowers the VLT 28% on all passenger cars including the window film and the automotive factory tint already in the glass of the vehicle when the car is purchased from the dealer.  The law passed in July of 2005 was 35% with a 0% tolerance and did not allow enough tolerance to include factory tinted automotive glass.  Most vehicles have factory tint of 4%-9% built into the glass from the factory.  We suggest having a film installed that blocks %62 light and allows in 38% light to obtain the darkest legal film in the State of Mississippi.  Any other film will not pass the strict new laws regarding window film.

Our most recent test was conducted on a 2002 Honda Accord.  The result with 38% window film resulted in a 30-32% reading using the light meter to test for Visible Light Transmission.
